At AGG we specialise in gynaecology and infertility. Our aim is to provide excellent and efficient healthcare to all women whilst offering everything you should expect from a first rate health service.
Gynaecology is the area of medicine that deals specifically with issues and conditions related to women. This includes issues involving the female reproductive organs and genitalia. Here at AGG we are a highly qualified set of individuals who are extremely respectful to each and every patient, and their specific needs.
We provide outstanding healthcare to all gynaecology and infertility patients while maintaining open and timely communication. We offer an exceptional breadth of services and options including the following:
I commenced my specialist Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) training in the UK, which I completed in New Zealand, after emigrating here in 2011. I have completed Membership exams for The Royal Colleges of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK (RCOG) and Australia & New Zealand (RANZCOG). I completed advanced training in pelvic floor surgery (RANZGOG ATM in Pelvic Floor) in 2016. I became an O&G Specialist in 2017.
I love the opportunity I have to talk with women about the issues that are important to them, and to work together with them to improve their health and quality of life. My clinical special interests include pelvic floor disorders (prolapse, urinary/faecal incontinence), menopause, menstrual disorders, pelvic pain and previous birth trauma or sexual assault. I am available for private specialist consultations, colposcopy and laparoscopic, hysteroscopic and prolapse surgery. I operate at Ascot Hospital in Greenlane and at Auckland City Surgical Services in Remuera Road. I am an on-call doctor for MEDSAC (Medical Sexual Abuse Clinicians) at the Greenlane Clinical Centre as I believe strongly that the care of women following sexual assault is an essential aspect of their path to recovery.
I am a Senior Lecturer at the University of Auckland and lead the Obstetrics and Gynaecology teaching programme for Year 5 medical students. I am involved with several research projects, including a NZ multi-centre trial of induction of labour and the utility of a vaginal pressure sensor probe (Femfit®) for pelvic floor disorders.
I am married and we have four children ranging in ages from 1 to 21 years. My hobbies include cycling, cooking and playing the piano.
We have a wide range of knowledge and skills that have been developed over a number of years. Every doctor here at our clinic has been through specialist training, and has consequently gained plenty of experience dealing with patients in a caring and trustworthy manner. Our team offers a private consultation service to patients. This may include an examination and tests done on the day of your consultation. Laboratory and radiology tests are often required, followed by a review appointment to discuss the results and offer a treatment plan. This may also include a surgical booking.
If surgery is required, our gynaecologists operate at Mercy Ascot and Brightside Hospitals (overnight surgery) and Auckland City Surgical Services and Columba at Ascot for day surgery.
Our current Auckland Gynaecology Group (AGG), was formed in 2004 due to a merger with Maungawhau Clinic, which was a private specialist gynaecology clinic formed in 1989. We moved to our current location in 2006 and have now colocated with Auckland City Surgical Services, which is a private surgical unit, as well as Repromed Auckland, which offers private fertility services. We also have the benefit of private radiology groups, pharmacies and laboratories in close proximity to us.
Our team of experts have a large amount of experience working with patients who have problems ranging from infertility to menopause. We guarantee a high level of patient care at all times. Here at AGG we work hard to ensure that all patients feel completely comfortable throughout the consultation process and all appointments following.
